Wellbeing Hub

At High Cross Primary School, we prioritise the mental and physical health of our pupils, recognising that wellbeing is essential for academic success and personal growth. We foster a supportive environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves.

For those pupils who face emotional, social, or behavioural challenges and who may exhibit difficulties in self-regulation, building relationships, or coping with life events, we have two Thrive practitioners in High Cross, one of which is a dedicated pastoral carer. THRIVE support in primary schools is crucial as it helps children develop emotional resilience, social skills, and a positive sense of self. It is an approach that focuses on emotional well-being and mental health, ensuring that children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

We value our whole school community and therefore, have a whole school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing. You’ll find resources, guidance, and information on a range of topics, including mental health support, mindfulness techniques, healthy lifestyle choices, and tips for managing school-life balance, for pupils, parents/carers and staff in this section.
