PTA Privacy Notice
Introduction
As part of our work we may collect personal information like your name and contact details, such as phone, email or postal address. This privacy notice explains the legal basis for us collecting and using this information and also your rights.
How we get the information and why we have it
We only collect this information when, for example, we ask if we can contact you, or you share the information with us by contacting us. For example if you email us, or if you provide your contact details for a competition like a raffle or event like a summer fayre.
The lawful basis for collecting and holding this information is your consent (you give us your permission for us to collect and hold this information).
You have the right not to share your personal information with us and the right to withdraw your consent to us holding this information, by contacting us.
What we do with the information
We only use this information for the purposes of contacting you and/or organising events or competitions (such as a raffle). We do not share the information with anyone other than members of the High Cross PTA and High Cross Primary School (e.g. where we share details of which pupils are attending an event).
How we store your information
We store your personal information securely on computer. We keep your information until the end of each school year and then destroy it by deleting it.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
- Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
- Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.
- Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
- You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
